Up to removing old hardened surround impregnation . Entire procedure is already explained here, but I’ll try to illustrate it and explain more thoroughly .
What you need is :
– Alcohol (Etanol) 96%
– cotton rug
– small container for Alcohol
– small brush ; that sort which is bad for any painting , but perfect for purpose – around 10mm wide , plastic threads – so it is semi-hard ….. perfect for applying some force , which we really need here .

First thing was to sand Pepperpot throats , clean them and magnets with compressed air , degrease throats with nitro-solvent and put some paper skirt , prior to spraying . I chose Graphite Black Kenda spray paint .
It started due to adventurous spirit of Ninja ( as known on Baby DiyA ) – he found them somewhere on web adds , I believe in Denmark .
As he said – “I don’t know do I need them , but somebody will “ ; due to fact that one is reported as having de-centred bass cone , they were pretty decent price-wise .
Pretty benign pictures , sent to Ninja from seller ; half-luck – just one is having K3809 type sticker , but both are no-back-ribs …… we were hoping in that moment that no-name one is not K3805 (higher Fs , used in Puma cabs) :
Started as shown here , what was pretty much generic/common Tannoy xover, for Pepperpot WG equipped units.
Now semi finished , still no measurements , only by ear and plenty of deduction , based on numerous web sources . However , it sounds like right step from original values , even still pretty much in Tannoy concept.
One day , hopefully soon , they’ll be finished in principle . Then making no hold barrels version , with ~ 3,8kg of copper for bass and tweet chokes ; maybe even DIY graphite rod resistors 😉 .
Beyma (bass helper) 9.2mH will stay as is – ancient EI core choke , 0.2Rdc .
Still to try air-core (so – no core) autoformer choke for Squawker , hoping that additional 1.5db will bring even more liveliness .

You can still find it ….. in at least dozen web book stores , but just as another book available only in Catalog , not in reality .
Here and there they’re popping up on Ama*on or E*ay , for anything between 30 and 350E , but you need either to be extremely quick or extremely dumb or both , to snatch it.
However , lucky and unworthy as I am , after several years of bawling , I got it … thanks to my own personal Wakoo German , known as Generg on Big Diya .
So , again , another Geschenk von Generg ……..
